3 PHASES IN EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY

This video shows the evolving phases in the Educational Technology. The phases are Phase One – Using Technology to Present Dynamic Lessons, Phase Two – Using Technology to Access Information and Phase Three - Using Technology to Produce and Share Products . According to the video, teachers are normally involved in the first phase however the possibilities of the teachers to proceed to the second and third phase are usually based on their understanding and ability to utilize the technology itself (Osborne & Hennessy, 2003). Thus it is important for us to understand the three phases as a whole concept instead of looking at the three phases as an individual component.

We think in different ways and our thinking is decided by many factors. Some are known and some are unknown. The known factors are - thinking, circumstances, early upbringing, living style, culture, family support, friends, own intelligence etc. Our thoughts and our mental makeup is also decided by many factors that are yet not known. ICT in Education

Because the globalization age revolves around information and communication technology (ICT), educational development should therefore place importance on the socialisation and mastery of ICT skills among students. Changes should be made to the teaching and learning system in the classrooms where the
constructivist method is preferred. This approach can promote enthusiasm and encourage students to be more responsible for their learning thus inculcating lifelong learning amongst them.
